Several photos from VNREDSat-1 satellite

.

Two days after the successful launching of VNREDSat-1 satellite into its orbit on May 7th 2013, the VNREDSat-1 successfully took photos and transmitted them to the ground photo receiving stations in Vietnam and several places in the world. These photos are images of Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, Melbourne in Australia  and Rome – Italy.

Right after receiving the data and images transmitted from VNREDSat-1, Vietnamese and French experts treated, analysed and accessed these data. Following are the received photos right after being treated by experts.

Phu Quoc Island – Vietnam (East and West shores of Phu Quoc Island)

Position: Melbourne – Australia

Position: Rome – Italy

Now, the satellite is moving smoothly in its orbit and can capture images of any position in the world. Everyday, experts continue making plans to take photos all over the world, including Vietnam, to test and access the system, especially accessing the optical system.

Initial received data and photos show that the transmission system between the ground receiving stations and the satellite is initially good and stable.

Based on initial successes, VNREDSat-1 is believed to meet adequately and quickly the demands for remote sensing images by ministries and agencies for observing natural resources, environment, natural disasters and other demands of the nation.
