Vietnam – 21st member of International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis

Under the direction of the Prime Minister and the help of the Vietnam Embassy in Austria, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies (including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice) to carry out negotiations to join the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). At the 83rd Council meeting at Laxenburg, Austria, IIASA held an official ceremony to welcome Vietnam as the 21st member.

Space technology cooperation prospects between Vietnam and Japan

From August 25th to 29th, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) delegation led by Prof. Chau Van Minh, VAST president, paid a working visit to Japan to promote Vietnam-Japan strategic cooperation in space technology. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Tuan, director of the Vietnam National Satellite Centre, also participated in the delegation.

30 years of scientific cooperation between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the National Centre for Scientific Research

From April 3rd to 7th 2013, a ceremony to mark the 30 years of scientific cooperation between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) took place in Paris. This first ever such event drew the participant of managers and scientists from VAST, CNRS and the Vietnamese Embassy in France. The VAST delegation led by Prof. Chau Van Minh, member of the Party Central Committee and VAST president, took part in the event.
