On March 30, 2016 Vietnam National Satellite Center (VNSC) and Netherlands Space Office (NSO) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation in Space technology and applications.
The signing Ceremony, which was organized by the Embassy of Netherlands in Hanoi, placed at the margins of the 5th Inter-Governmental Committee Meeting on the Implementation of the Strategic Partnership Arrangement between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Climate Change Adaption and Water Management.
The Ceremony drew the participation of Ms. Melanie Schultz van Haegen – Minister for Infrastructure and Environment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Ger Nieuwpoort – Director of Netherlands Space Office; Prof. Ninh Khac Ban – Director of International Cooperation Department of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Tuan – Director of VNSC and staffs from NSO, the Embassy of Netherlands in Hanoi and VNSC.

The signed MOU realizes the cooperation between VNSC and NSO in space technology and application which may include but not limited to the following areas: Design, development, application and control of orbital and suborbital vehicles and related spacecrafts for earth observation, with a special focus on small satellites; Earth science, observations and studies of the evolution of the climate and the environment; Exchange and application of space data for agriculture, water management; disaster risk management, and other societal benefit areas; Capacity development…
Shortly after the end of the signing ceremony, representatives of VNSC and NSO had a meeting to discuss on the implementation of the MOU.
