Addressing the ceremony, Tran Dai Quang confirmed that the Party and State always considered science and technology the most important motive force in the nation’s socio-economic development. VAST, as a leading agency in the field of natural science and technological development, plays a very important role in the process. He said that VAST missions in the future were vital in realising high goals, focusing on 3 areas: increasing the scientific and technological ability, renewing the management mechanism, and increasing application research. The academy should invest in studying spearhead scientific sectors which hold practical significance towards the national industrialization and modernization as well as security and defence protection.
