Ceremony to announce and award the Prime Minister's Decision on appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh to the position of Vice Chairman of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology


On March 14, 2019, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) organized a ceremony to announce and award the Prime Minister's Decision to appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Head of the Institute of Geology, to the position of VAST Vice Chairman.

Attendants at the ceremony from VAST were Academic and Professor Chau Van Minh, Party Central Committee (PCC) member, Secretary of the VAST Party Committee, and VAST President; Dr. Nguyen Quang Liem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the VAST Party Committee; members of the VAST Standing Party Board; representatives from VAST Trade Union and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; together with leaders of VAST President assistance departments; and leaders of VAST units.

Representatives from central ministries and agencies included those from the Ministry of Home Affairs; Mr. Bui Nhat Quang, PCC alternate member, VAST Vice Chairman; and those from the PCC Commission on Organization, Party Committee of Central Agencies Bloc, and the Office of the PCC.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Mr. Bui Dinh Tri, Head of VAST Personnel Work Department, announced Decision 61/QD-TTg dated January 11, 2019, by the Prime Minister, on the time-limit appointment to Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Head of the VAST Institute of Geology, as VAST Vice Chairman.

At the ceremony, VAST President Chau Van Minh congratulated Mr. Tran Tuan Anh on being appointed VAST Vice Chairman and on receiving the high trust of VAST staff and the Prime Minister and VAST Party Standing Committee. He also appreciated Tran Tuan Anh’s contributions on his working positions throughout the past time, adding that he believed Mr. Anh would continue to promote a high sense of responsibility, and put forth many new initiatives to contribute to VAST development so that it would realize well the tasks entrusted it by the Party and the Government.

Expressing his honor to receive the new mission, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh expressed deep thanks to the Prime Minister, the Government, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the PCC Commission on Organization, the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc, the PCC Commission on Inspection, the PCC Party Commissions, the Office of the Government, ministries and agencies for trusting him, making favourable conditions for him and assigning him the important task. He also said thanks to VAST leaders, VAST Party Committee, VAST units’ key leaders and the staff of the Institute of Geology for training him and facilitating his practice and obtaining the current position.

In the new position, the new VAST Vice President expressed determination to continuously strive and continue to make every effort to contribute strength and wisdom to the development of VAST; best perform tasks assigned by the VAST President and those assigned, thus contributing to the leadership of VAST, the VAST Standing Committee and the VAST Party Executive Committee in building a united, renewable and creative leadership, guiding VAST to successfully realizing all tasks, and deserving to be the country’s leading unit in scientific research and technology development.

At the end of the ceremony, new VAST Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Tran Tuan Anh received many congratulations and flowers from VAST leaders, units and participants.
