On 19 December 2014, a conference on space technology and application took place at the Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) with the participation of Prof. Duong Ngoc Hai, VAST Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Lam, Head of the Department of National Remote Sensing under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Prof. Nguyen Khoa Son, Head of the program on space science and technology, together with a number of other scientists concerned in space technology.
On 10 December 2014, the Institute of Energy Science organised a three-day international workshop entitled “Green energy and growth in ASEAN 2014”. The workshop attracted over 100 domestic and foreign scientists, experts and organizations working in the energy, environment and green growth areas. In particular, the workshop received an active response from senior experts and managers from the ASEAN region as well as scientists coming from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Australia, the Republic of France and the Netherlands. The workshop also received the sponsor from the U.S. Office of Global Naval Research.
On December 23rd, 2014, a ceremony to present the insignia of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) to Quach Phung Dieu, Counselor of Science – Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hanoi.
The Director General of Vietnam National Satellite Center (VNSC) and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and high-ranking delegation of Vietnamese Government took the time to visit Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Tsukuba Space Centerin Ibaraki Prefecture during a visit to Japan in mid-October 2014.
In the afternoon of January 21st 2015, Professor Chau Van Minh, President of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Head of the Steering Committee of Vietnam Space Center Project chaired the supervisory meeting, directed the implementation of the project and visited the construction site of the Vietnam Space Center, which was completed in October 2014 in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, Hanoi.
On January 15th, a representative from the Navy High Command visited and presented the certificate of merit, of the Naval High Command to the Center for Control and Exploitation of Small Satellite – Space Technology Institute for its outstanding achievements in the implementation of tasks in oversight of the situation at sea in 2014.
