Seminar assessing operation of Vietnam’s remote sensing system

VNREDSat-1 is the first Vietnam Natural Resources, Environment and Disaster monitoring satellite. It was launched into orbit on May 7th 2013 to shoot and provide high-resolution optical images from space efficiently. The satellite serves diverse needs as it monitors natural resources, the environment, disasters and climatic changes in order to contribute to socio-economic development, improve national defence and security, and to enhance scientific research and training.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Vietnam visits VAST

On October 28th 2013, VAST held a reception to welcome Joop Scheffers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Vietnam, to discuss cooperation potential in the field of science and technology, promote development cooperation programmes and renovate science and technology between VAST and the Netherlands’ BE-Basic.

The second VAST-KAST workshop on biodiversity and bio-active compounds

On October 28th 2013, the second VAST-KAST workshop on biodiversity and bio-active compounds took place at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The workshop drew the participation of Prof. Nguyen Dinh Cong, vice president of VAST; Prof. Kyu-Tek Park, executive vice president of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST); and scientists and representatives from units of VAST and KAST.
