Goal and objectives of the project

- Research on species composition and distribution of cave arthropods in the areas of Phong Nha - Ke Bang;
- Study diversity including new records and new taxons for science;
- Evaluate the impacts caused by human (tourist activities) to value of cave biodiversity in the studied areas; propose management solutions to conserve the cave biodiversity value.

Main results

- Theoretical results:
The results of this project has provided the completeness and synchronization informations about species composition and distribution of cave arthropods in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang national park.

- Applied results:
The results of this project will contribute to the investigation, management and conservation of cave biodiversity in Vietnam.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- Prividing the new records on cave biodiversity in Phong Nha - Ke Bang region in particular and in Vietnam in general.
- Published five new species to science (three species of spider and two species of scorpion).
