Main results

- Theoretical results:
+ The process of extraction of medicinal herbs from BaGiang traditional remedy for ulcerrative colitis (117.3 kg of dry materal/batch) has been completed. The process is safe, feasible at the production scale.
+ Isolation and structural determination of the four substances, named palmatine and berberin, quercitroside and isoquercitroside as comparators for the evaluation of the extracts.
- Applied results:
A trial batch of 234.60 kg was used for production (semi-finished product 146 kg) as a raw material for capsule production.

Novelty and actuality and scientific meaningfulness of the results

- The process of extraction of medicinal herbs from BaGiang traditional remedy for ulcerrative colitis has been completed. The process is safe, feasible at the production scale.
- Introduce a new form of hard capsules to replace the old form.
- Evaluation of safety and initial evaluation of anti-inflammatory effect of extract powder.
- Trial production of 180,000 Capsules
