Goal and objectives of the project

- Deployment the assay of inhibition of HMG-coenzyme A reductase enzyme on in-vitro model.
- Make a product could be inhibitor HMG-CoenzymA reductase enzyme from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn and Vigna radiata.

Main results

Content 1: Collected and processed Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn leaf and Vigna radiata peel.
Content 2:
- The process of extracting, removing alcaloids and creating 100 grams of flavonoid extracts from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn leaf.
- Some of the flavonoids found in this extract include: 1 flavan-3-ol compound: catechin (NN1) and 5 flavonoid compounds: hyperoside (NN2), quercetin (NN3), kaempferol Isorhamnetin-3-O-β-glucuronide (NN5), quercetin-3-O-β-glucuronide (NN6).
- The content of major flavonoids> 80% by HPLC was determined.
- The stability and efficiency of the extraction process has been studied.
Content 3:
- Develop a process to extract flavonoids and produce 100 grams of flavonoid-rich extracts Vigna radiata peel.
- Some of the flavonoids found in this composition have been identified, including 3 flavone compounds: vitexin (MB1), isovitexin (MB2), luteolin (MB3), 1 dihydroflavonol is taxifoline (MB4), 1 flavan-3-ol compound is catechin (MB5).
- The concentration of major flavonoids > 80% by HPLC was determined.
- The stability and efficiency of the extraction process has been studied.
Content 4: Devising a method for evaluating the activity of reducing enzyme HMG-CoenzymA.
Content 5:
- The mixing ratio between Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn leaf and Vigna radiata peel was determined based on the evaluation of HMG-CoenzymA enzyme inhibitory activity.
- Develop a process to create 100 grams of VN-CHOLES preparation rich in flavonoids mixed from Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn leaf and Vigna radiata peel.
- The concentration of major flavonoids of VN-CHOLES > 80% by HPLC was determined.
Content 6: Evaluation of HMG-CoenzymA reductase activity of the from VN-CHOLES.
Content 7: The cholesterol-lowering effect of VN-CHOLES in mice was evaluated.
Content 8: Determined acute toxicity of VN-CHOLES preparations.
Content 9: Standard basis for VN-CHOLES product.
